Everything begins by taking that first step.
I have wanted to start a podcast, create videos, and/or Blog/Vlog for a number of years but was always hesitant or scared. Scared of making a fool of myself. No one likes to fail or look like an idiot in front of, literally, the whole world. But, as providence would have it, I have become friends with an awesome creator who has convinced me to cast my fears aside and just jump in and do something. Whether I succeed or I fail so miserably that I have to hide from humanity for the rest of my life, well, at least I took that first step and tried.
About me? Primarily, I consider myself to be a husband, a maker, a trainer, a creator, and a cook. Yes, these subjects are varied and broad, but if you give me chance, I would like to share my experience and knowledge with you on each of these topics, and more.
I served in and retired from the United States Air Force after 20 years of honorable service as a mechanic on KC-135 aircraft, then as a paralegal (including time as the Chief Court Administrator for a federal appellate court), and also as something cool but entirely different for about 1 year interspersed within the other two career fields. After I retired, I worked as a civilian paralegal in different federal law enforcement agencies as well as the FAA for 13 years until I was retired due to a disability in 2020.
From a very early age, I have been driven to create. Outside of work, at night, on weekends and holidays, I learned and worked as a woodworker, woodturner, fine furniture maker, fabricator, metal worker, firearms and tactics instructor, and gunsmith. Aside from self-study, I have formal educations in gunsmithing and firearms training as well as experience in firearms tactics related to real world scenarios. I also have experience in carpentry, electrics, plumbing, and concrete. I continue to learn as much as I can about ‘all things making’ and suspect that I will continue this endeavor until I expire.
In the end, I’m just a guy with a bunch of practical experience who wants to share that knowledge with whomever is willing to listen.
